A message from Dr Jacqui Rawcliffe who is retiring from Front Street Surgery at the end of September

It is with great sadness that I am saying goodbye to the patients and staff at Front Street Surgery after spending the last 21 years here. The time has come for me to retire after 30 years as a GP, to spend time with my family, and indulge in my favourite pastime of golf, among my other interests.

I came to York in 2001, after spending 8 years as a Partner at a GP Practice in Nottingham, when my Husband relocated here to the hospital, and naturally I followed!

During my career here, I was involved in the Practice merger with Beech Grove Medical Practice in 2016, which resulted in a larger, more sustainable, and strengthened Practice. The camaraderie here is second to none and the patients are at the core of all we work for.

I have been privileged to care for Front Street patients all these years. I will miss you, but I am happy to be leaving you in the very capable hands of my colleagues.

The NHS has changed enormously over my 35 years as a doctor, and we are all working under huge pressure, please may I ask… be kind to everyone in the team at Front Street Surgery, they really are very special, and working their hardest for you.

I'm excited to be starting my new journey at the end of September.

With best wishes and fond memories.

Dr Jacqui Rawcliffe
