Access
Wheelchair Access – Our consultation rooms are all on the ground floor, with good access. We have wide front doors to allow for wheelchair access. Please ring the doorbell if you need any assistance. We have plenty of space in our waiting room for wheelchair users, and a lower level access point to our reception front desk.
Car Parking – Blue Badge holders are welcome to use any of the available spaces in the surgery car park at the Acomb branch, and there is disabled parking in the precinct carpark at Copmanthorpe.
Waiting Room – If you need a quiet space away from our waiting room, please ask a member of the reception team, and they will find you a quiet space to wait.
Language Interpreters – Please let a member of the team know if you need a language interpreter and we can arrange this for your appointment; either in person, via a video link or over the telephone. We also offer an interpretation service for written communications.
British Sign Language – Should you require a BSL interpreter we can arrange this for you, either in person or via video link.
Saturday Morning Clinic
We run Saturday morning clinics for pre-bookable GP and Nurse appointments. We usually offer 2 Saturday morning clinics per month. Please ask a member of the reception team, for availability.
Out of Hours and Emergencies
111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It’s fast, easy and free. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you.
NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.
In case of a life-threatening emergency, please dial 999.
